Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Murex Downstream System Analyst to join an Investment Banking engagement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The role focuses on integrating Murex MX.3 with downstream and post-trade systems, covering confirmations, settlements, payments, accounting, and reporting. The candidate should have strong experience with Murex interfaces and a good understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Design, configure, and support interfaces between Murex and downstream systems.
- Work with MxML, batch interfaces, and data flows between Murex and external applications.
- Support post-trade processes including confirmations, settlements, payments, accounting, and reporting.
- Analyse business and operational requirements and translate them into Murex integration solutions.
- Ensure accurate and reliable data movement from Murex to downstream platforms.
- Investigate and resolve interface breaks, reconciliation issues, and data discrepancies.
- Use SQL/PLSQL and Unix for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Support the end-to-end trade lifecycle, from trade capture through settlement.
- Participate in SIT/UAT, implementations, upgrades, and production support.
- Provide L2/L3 support for Murex downstream and integration-related issues.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Front Office, and IT teams.
What We're Looking For
- 6–9 years of relevant experience with strong hands-on Murex / MX.3 exposure.
- Experience with Murex downstream integration and post-trade systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of MxML and/or batch interfaces.
- Good understanding of confirmations, settlements, payments, accounting, and reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Experience troubleshooting interfaces, data flows, and reconciliation breaks.
- Working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix.
- Experience with SIT/UAT, Murex implementations, upgrades, and L2/L3 production support.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience within Investment Banking / Capital Markets environments preferred.
- Willingness to relocate to and work onsite in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
