Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a Murex Automation Test Engineer to join an Investment Banking engagement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The role requires a development or automation testing background with strong Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting, and SQL skills. Experience with MxTest or other automation tools such as Selenium or QTP is preferred.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute automated test scenarios for Murex applications.
- Work with MxTest or other script-based automation tools.
- Understand business and functional requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
- Prepare and manage test data for functional and regression testing.
- Execute SIT/UAT and regression testing cycles.
- Use SQL/PLSQL for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Use Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting for test execution and automation activities.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Support issue analysis and troubleshooting during testing.
- Collaborate with Murex developers, senior testers, and business analysts.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of relevant development, testing, or automation experience.
- Experience with Murex / MX.3 testing is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with MxTest, Selenium, QTP, or similar automation tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting.
- Good knowledge of SQL/PLSQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with test automation, regression testing, SIT, and UAT.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience within Investment Banking / Capital Markets environments preferred.
- Willingness to relocate to and work onsite in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
